SUVs drive marque higher
Mitsubishi is hailing the sales figures of its Outlander and ASX after enjoying another record month of business in New Zealand.
The marque sold 1,620 units in February, it’s highest monthly tally in 30 years and 13 per cent more than the 1,436 units in the previous month.
It also outpaced its rivals to top the chart for new passenger vehicles last month after selling 1,105 units.
Two SUV models boosted the company’s performance, with the Outlander clocking 595 sales and the ASX, pictured, 319.
In combined sales, Mitsubishi was second overall with a market share of 13.4 per cent, while it claimed third sport in commercial sales thanks to its new Express van and Triton models.
Reece Congdon, head of marketing and corporate affairs, says the results reflect the confidence Kiwi motorists have in the brand and its 57-strong dealership.
“Before Covid hit last year, we had recorded 10 consecutive years of growth, built on the back of a clear focus on customer service and a range that continues to evolve with contemporary tastes and lifestyles,” he notes.
“With new models in the pipeline, we are excited about the potential the rest of the year holds.”
