Turners eyes growth in south

Turners Cars has officially opened a $4 million branch in Timaru, with the move expanding its network to 21 locations across the country.

The site on Meadows Rd, Washdyke, was purchased by Turners in 2022 and it began trading from there in November last year before holding the official opening this month.

Greg Hedgepeth, chief executive, attended the March 8 event and says after some analysis the company identified the South Canterbury town as an area with growth, reports Stuff.

It has invested $4m in developing the site, which was previously home to Leo Leonard Motors, and Hedgepeth adds feedback has been “really good” since a soft opening in November.

Turners aims to maintain about 100 cars for sale at the site but consumers visiting the site can also browse through the 3,000 vehicles usually available on its website, reports Stuff.
