Dean Sheed has left the general manager position at Audi New Zealand after more than 14 years to take on a newly created role with European Motor Distributors.

He announced in a LinkedIn post that he is now working as the Branded Finance and mobility manager for the company, which is part of the Giltrap Group.

“The new role covers all our brands, their dealer networks and key finance, insurance and mobility partners, UDC Finance, ERL, Provident Ins and SIXT – together we will provide benchmark mobility options at every touchpoint of the consumer journey,” explains Sheed, pictured.

“After 14 years with the four rings I have been fortunate to lead or attend some amazing experiences locally and globally – it’s also been a pleasure assisting in the development of our team members who are now realising their potential and achieving success in many parts of the business.”

Sheed says highlights from his time with Audi include New Zealand continuing to be the number-one market globally for the marque’s RS product and launching e-tron as the platform for its electric future.

Greg Leet, who has been Volkswagen passenger cars general manager for the past four years, is replacing Sheed at Audi NZ.

Leet’s other previous roles include being general manager for Skoda New Zealand from September 2014 to August 2019 and Audi’s national sales manager for the three years prior to that.
