Sheed takes on MG role

Dean Sheed is taking up the role of country business manager for MG Motor New Zealand, effective from August 11.
The industry veteran, who previously spent nearly 26 years with European Motor Distributors (EMD), says he will be “leading the brand’s continued expansion and commercial performance across New Zealand”.
“It’s an exciting opportunity to work with one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in the region – a company that blends rich heritage with modern innovation, agility, and momentum,” he adds.
“In this role, I’ll be partnering closely with our dealer network and fleet customers to drive sales growth, strengthen showroom performance, and build our presence and customer proposition nationwide.”
Sheed, pictured, has spent this year working as a business consultant after ending his association with EMD, which is part of the Giltrap Group, in October last year.
He was branded finance and mobility manager of EMD during his final 15 months with the company.
Before that he spent 11 years as general manager of Audi New Zealand and held the same role at Volkswagen New Zealand from 1999 to 2012.
Sheed spent 12 years at Ford NZ prior to joining EMD and is also a life member and past board member of Drive Electric.
