Ute unleashes wild side
A limited-edition version of New Zealand’s number-one selling vehicle has arrived at dealerships.
Only 150 units of the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X, which promises better off-road handling, are available to Kiwi consumers.
Features of the Wildtrak X, which come in addition to the Ranger’s standard equipment, include autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection and a five-star ANCAP rating.
Under the bonnet is a 157kW and 500Nm bi-turbo diesel engine that combines with a 10-speed auto transmission for extra power and torque.
Other highlights include 18-inch alloy wheels, a black nudge bar with an LED light bar for improved night-time vision, and a pillar-mounted snorkel offering 800mm water-wading capability.
Simon Rutherford, managing director at Ford NZ, says: “Ford continues to adapt, grow and expand the Ranger offering, bringing more targeted, specific capabilities and attributes to customers to help them meet any challenges they face; whether at work or on the weekend.
“Now with Ranger Wildtrak X, customers can get even more out of their off-road adventures.”
The recommended retail price is $75,490.
