Tech boss lands permanent role

Geneva Finance has announced the permanent appointment of Sylvester Riddell as its chief technology officer after he filled the role on an acting basis for the past three months.

Riddell’s connection with the company dates back to 2016 when he spent a year working on the implementation of finPOWER Connect, Geneva’s back-end lending system.

His return to the business was announced in November last year when he took on the chief technology officer role for an initial three-month period.

The permanent appointment of Riddell, pictured, was revealed by Geneva in an update to the NZX on January 24.

He has previously held senior accounting and technology positions with the State Bank of South Australia, Countrywide Bank and Toyota Finance New Zealand.

Riddell joined the latter as a business analyst in 2008 before holding the company’s IT manager role from November 2011 to March 2014.
