Cadillac is launching in New Zealand with the all-electric Lyriq and the vehicle is now open for orders in two grades – Luxury and Sport.

The Luxury version features chrome highlights, while the Sport models feature a dark grille-bar finish, wheels with dark inserts, obsidian chrome finishes and dark accents on front and rear fascia, windows, and bodyside mouldings.

Features common to both models include a black crystal front grille, a dual-panel power sunroof, a hands-free liftgate, open and close with programmable memory height and Cadillac-branded projection light.

Inside, the front seats offer heating, ventilation and a lumbar massage function, and an AKG Studio 19-speaker stereo system boasts front-row headrest speakers.

The Lyriq’s infotainment system is controlled through a 33-inch diagonal advanced LED display and the stereo system pairs with active noise cancellation technology to actively monitor and mitigate road noise inputs.

Both variants share the same twin-motor AWD powertrain, with output figures of 388kW and 610Nm, along with a 102kWh battery from GM that delivers a range of 530km.

A fast charge of the battery is capable of delivering up to 131km of range in 10 minutes.

Cadillac, part of General Motors, has teamed up with local providers to enhance its offering to the New Zealand market.

It has partnered with ChargeNet and is offering customers a $400 charging credit with every Lyriq purchase and under a deal with Evnex is supplying New Zealand-made home chargers to customers.

Jess Bala, managing director GM Australia and New Zealand, says: “The Cadillac Lyriq isn’t just a game-changing vehicle to drive, it’s a game-changing vehicle to own, too.

“With GM’s innovative battery technology and impressive driving range, it’s a vehicle ready to explore New Zealand, and we wanted to design an ownership package that would help [allow people to] do exactly that, whether you’re charging at home, or taking advantage of the country’s expanding charging infrastructure.”

Cadillac has also joined forces with MTF as its exclusive vehicle finance provider in New Zealand.
