Silverado reaches milestone
The team at GMSV has reached a major landmark in the marque’s short history only weeks after the opening of a new dedicated Chevrolet remanufacturing facility in Victoria.
“We’re excited to announce the 5,000th Silverado has emerged from the remanufacturing process,” says Joanne Stogiannis, company director.
“This achievement coincides with GMSV’s second birthday. This is remarkable for a new brand in Australia and New Zealand. It shows there’s considerable desire among enthusiasts for the latest in a V8-powered full-size pick-up truck.”
The larger facility in Dandenong opened in August and, running as a dedicated line, it delivers a more seamless operation.
“This remanufacturing facility will enable improved flexibility and capacity with a significant increase in the number of Silverados coming off the line,” adds Stogiannis.
“It’s timely to have it up and running as we recently announced Australia and New Zealand will be receiving a new Silverado 1500 range in mid-2023 including Chevrolet’s flagship off-road truck, the first-ever Silverado ZR2.
“We’re confident we will be in a position to better cater to anticipated demand associated with the launch of these new 1500s and the ever-popular HD.”
