Performance vehicle hits NZ
The Subaru Saigo WRX STI has finally touched down in this country – but availability is, oh so, limited.
The STI is the marque’s flagship fast-charger. This variant, which translates as “the last” in Japanese, adds rarity to this limited-edition model’s appeal.
Wallis Dumper, Subaru New Zealand’s managing director, says: “Collectors of special models will need to hurry to secure one of these ‘last’ STIs.
“The Saigo WRX won’t be sitting on showroom floors for long. We’ve had an indication that around half of the vehicles are already sold.”
Its recommended retail price is $67,990. That includes the famous STI rear wing stamped with black badging and 19-inch forged gold alloys.
Inside, there’s a suede D-shaped steering wheel, matte-carbon dash panel, Recaro seats, and silver seat belts and stitching.
Owners will receive their keys in a custom presentation box with the VIN number and the car’s number – in its sequence – of the 20 on sale in New Zealand.
