Micromobility on the agenda

Intelligent Transport Systems New Zealand (ITSNZ) is hosting a free informative event on micromobility in Auckland.

Aiming to inform, inspire and connect attendees, the event will discuss the future of micromobility, urban transport and put questions to a panel of mobility experts.

In recent months, the rapid influx of e-scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards and other types of micromobility has had huge impacts on major cities around the world.

The rapid adoption brought on by fleets and increasing private ownership means decision-makers are under pressure to react quickly to understand the implications for public safety, regulation and infrastructure to achieve the full potential of benefits and mitigate problems.

The event will discuss why new mobility options are expected to be a major disruptor. Speakers will examine how New Zealand is responding and look at international examples, discussing behaviour change, sustainability, safety and impacts on design for infrastructure, cities and the people who live there.

The free event will be held from 5-7pm at the Beca Auditorium, 21 Pitt Street Auckland, on February 19. Click here to register for the event.
