Few stink-bug ‘hold-ups’

Autohub has issued another customer update in regards to the new brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) season.

“All going well, there should be little or no hold-ups in our service barring perhaps a few ‘teething issues’,” it states. “This is a new process and, as always, unforeseen issues may arise.”

In regards to service, it states: “JEVIC is currently providing Autohub with all pre-export services. It has confirmed these services will be provided to Autohub in all ports we ship from. This includes treatment to NZ MPI requirements for the BMSB season.

A BMSB treatment service surcharge will apply to all vehicles processed through JEVIC’s approved treatments and shipped from September 1 until arrival on April 30.

“We have received inquiries with regards to damaged vehicles, non-drivers or non-rollers as to whether these have to undergo the same treatment. Yes, all are subject to BMSB treatment prior to shipping no matter what condition.

“We are discussing with JEVIC how such vehicles are handled for treatment. We believe there will be complications and additional costs involved, so we anticipate costs incurred will be on a case-by-case basis.

“At this stage, we’ve elected not to pass on any further cost increases we have incurred. As we advised earlier, all shipping lines have stated they are reviewing their rates – some have already increased – and once we have all new rates disclosed to us, we will review with the possibility of having to pass some or all of these increases on.”
