Japan's port facilities hit

VIA, (the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association), has reported that port facilities have been affected by Typhoon Jebi - Japan's worst storm in 25 years.

The Osaka region, including port facilities at Kobe, has been hit severely, with details emerging of loss of life and serious damage to infrastructure and property.

Logistics companies and border inspection organisations are now assessing the impact on their facilities and are warning of likely reductions in capacity.

VIA hopes that all operators and their staff and families are safe and well.
