Dealer numbers continue to fall
Latest figures mark six straight months of decline for register and the total is now more than 110 below where it was a year ago.

The number of dealers on the Motor Vehicle Traders Register (MVTR) fell by 15 last month, with the total at the end of December standing at 2,940.
After reaching 3,020 traders at the end of June last year, the size of the register has now decreased for six consecutive months.
The latest figure is also 116 lower than the 3,056 registered traders at the end of December 2021.
Dealer numbers have largely been in decline since hitting a high of 3,536 in November 2017.
The MVTR holds essential information about registered traders and their businesses. It is operated by Trading Standards, which falls under the remit of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
