Bentley backs Pride with rainbow-coloured car

Bentley Motors has wrapped one of its Continental GT V8 Convertibles in a rainbow design to feature in an online Pride event on July 25.

The marque, which is based in Crewe, is partnering with Cheshire East Council for the North West of England’s virtual celebration.

Dr Astrid Fontaine, Bentley’s member of the board for people, digitalisation and IT, says the company welcomed the opportunity to create its first rainbow car, “because rainbows are recognised as an icon for the LGBTQ+ community and Pride events which celebrate individuality and take place around the world during June and July”.

“As Bentley steps up its emphasis on the importance of diversity and inclusion, we’re delighted to be sponsoring Cheshire East’s virtual pride celebrations … and our rainbow Bentley captures the essence of that perfectly,” she adds.

The special car was inspired by a winning design, created by a 15-year-old girl, in a competition during the Covid-19 lockdown for Bentley employees and their families to co-create a vehicle that captured the moment.

Bespoke Bentley colours used to bring the design to life are Dragon Red, Orange Flame, Yellow Flame, Apple Green, Sequin Blue and Azure Purple.

The rainbow-coloured Bentley will feature by video during Cheshire East’s Virtual Pride 2020 and is also on show in the CW1 showroom in Crewe during July.
