AA Motoring is working with its sites to come up with a plan to provide services for essential workers after the country moved into a snap lockdown.

In a message to members, the AA says it has had to make some changes to its services to “protect you and our people”.

It says it will continue to update its website with details of its operations as alert levels change.

All AA Centres are closed during alert level four, but AA Roadservice will continue to provide emergency breakdown assistance.

However, the organisation notes there will be changes to ensure support is for journeys regarded as essential at alert level four.

This includes travel to the supermarket, pharmacy or to visit a medical professional and the AA will also be able to assist members who work in an essential service role.

Customers are asked to maintain at least a two-metre distance from AA service officers or remain in their car during a callout.
