Your chance to win stunning cars
The chance to win one of two eye-catching cars will be on offer to visitors at the annual Beach Hop in Whangamata from March 24 to 28.
The event is celebrating its 21st anniversary and the top giveaway is a pink 1956 Ford Thunderbird, pictured above.
Visitors can also purchase tickets for a chance to win Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust’s 2021 Shelby Mustang GT-H, pictured below, which is being raffled off to raise funds for the organisation.
The Mustang, which is valued at $160,000, will be on display at Ford New Zealand’s stand in Williamson Park. Only 6,000 raffle tickets are available and they are expected to sell out during the Beach Hop.
Ford NZ has been a sponsor of the Beach Hop for more than a decade and will be taking part in all five days of the festival.
The Ford team will be driving Mustangs in the cruises to Waihi, Thames and Onemana’s Thundercruise as well as taking part in the weekend’s Grand Parade.
Paul Radisich, a former V8 Supercars star, will also join them to award 20 Ford cars attending the Hop with the Ford Top Twenty Elite prize. Winners will receive a commemorative medal for their vehicle, a limited-edition Ford Beach Hop T-shirt and they will feature at the front of the Grand Parade on Saturday.
Simon Rutherford, managing director of Ford NZ, says the company always looks forward to attending the Beach Hop.
“It’s one of our favourite events to sponsor; the crowd, the cars and the overall atmosphere is uniquely energetic and fun,” he explains.
“We enjoy getting out and catching up with some of the biggest blue oval fans and every year there are more and more classic Fords in stunningly impressive condition that exemplify their owner’s pride and passion.”
The Beach Hop has grown into New Zealand’s largest rock ’n’ roll festival and attracts more than 100,000 people along with thousands of classic cars, hot rods and motorcycles.
