Chery has unveiled the newest addition to its SUV line-up, the Tiggo 9 PHEV.

It says the plug-in hybrid has state-of-the-art technology that will launch the brand into a sustainable future as demand grows for “new energy vehicles”.

The PHEV blends distinctive design elements. Its exterior features an eye-catching octagonal grille, dynamic body lines and 20-inch multi-spoke wheels.

Inside, the 15.6-inch 2.5K HD screen and integrated multifunctional console enhance operational ease. Specially crafted 3D stitched seats add visual appeal and “ensure unmatched comfort”.

Equipped with a two-litre turbocharged engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Tiggo 9 PHEV boasts 175kW of power and 385Nm of torque, while the hybrid’s 3DHT electric motor boasts a maximum output of 165kW.

This set-up achieves fuel consumption of 5.2l/100km under the WLTC regime. With the assistance of an electric motor, range is extended beyond 1,400km “ushering in a new era of green long-range travel”. The Tiggo SUV range was launched in 2005.
