All change at GAC

GAC International has aligned its Oceania and UK markets by appointing Aries Zhao to lead the GAC UK and Oceania Region Centre, and GAC Australia.

The announcement, which came against the backdrop of GAC Australia’s inaugural dealer conference last month, reflects the cultural and technical alignment of both key markets and better supports the operations of the GAC International business.

The move means Zhao, pictured, has been appointed as chief executive officer GAC Australia effective immediately, while also assuming responsibility for the region more broadly as president of UK and Oceania.

Cheney Liang continues as chief operating officer for the local business. Kevin Shu, who led the GAC Australia organisation since the brand’s launch across the Tasman, will remain with GAC International working in other markets for the business.

Jack Chen, vice-president of the GAC Group and chairman of GAC International, officially introduced Zhao as president of the UK and Oceania, as well as CEO of GAC Australia, to the dealer network.

Chen has reaffirmed the importance of Australia in GAC International’s global strategy. He says: “Australia is a key strategic market for GAC’s global expansion and you are our most important partners in building our success here.”

Zhao adds: “Taking on the leadership of our Australian operations at such a pivotal moment is an honour. During our first year, we have already established an exceptional product line-up and the foundations of a strong customer-focused dealer network.

“The joining of the Oceania and UK regions represents a natural fit for our global right-hand-drive strategy. Both markets share high standards for safety, quality, technology and customer care. Our new structure will allow us to embrace the alignments of these markets while also catering for their cultural nuances.”
