GWM boosts support for Warriors
GWM has launched the Warriors Bandwagon in Australia as the NRL’s top eight sides prepare for the opening round of finals this weekend.
The Warriors are playing at home against the Dolphins on Saturday but support for the New Zealand-based club is being galvanised across the ditch,
The bandwagon, which carries Warriors fans and hit Sydney’s streets this week, is being towed by a GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV. It has made surprise appearances outside the clubs and suburbs of the St George Illawarra Dragons, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, West Tigers and Parramatta Eels in recent days.
Decked out with Warriors’ branding, the bandwagon’s integrated lighting and sound system is powered by the PHEV’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology when parked.
GWM says the bandwagon will keep rolling wherever the Warriors play in Australia – although a win on Saturday will maintain their home advantage – and fans can follow its journey across the marque’s social channels throughout the NRL finals series.
Steve MacIver, a spokesman for GWM, adds: “The Warriors hold a special place in the hearts of footy fans across both New Zealand and Australia.
“Unveiling the Wahs Bandwagon in Sydney is our way of bringing people together for the finals, backing this team, and showing what the GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV can do when it's put to work – with enough towing capacity to carry 3.5 tonnes of brand-new Warriors fans.”
Willie Mason and Justin Horo have been among the NRL legends to ride on the bandwagon this week and show their support for the Warriors.

Horo explains: “I played for Manly and Parramatta, and this year both of them are out. My dad played for the Warriors, so backing them as my third team just makes sense.
“If your club’s out too, get on the bandwagon and do the same.”
Mason adds: “I’ve always rated the Warriors – they gave me some of the toughest battles of my career.
“Now that Canterbury is eliminated, I’m grabbing a Wahs’ jersey and jumping on board and riding this bandwagon all the way to October.”
