New dealership set for take-off

Miles Toyota has announced it is expanding its Christchurch operations with a new full-service dealership on Richard Pearse Road, bringing vehicle sales to its airport offering for the first time in more than 30 years.

The new Miles Toyota Airport store, expected to open in early 2027, will offer new and used vehicle sales, finance, parts, servicing, repairs, WOFs, Toyota Genuine Windscreens, tyres and wheel alignments.

The group’s existing Orchard Road business will remain open and continue to support servicing and repair demand from large fleet and rental customers.

Mark Mills, Miles Toyota chief executive officer, says: “We’ve grown strongly in Christchurch and we’ve reached the point where we need more room to keep giving our customers the level of service they expect from us.

“The Airport has been an important part of Miles Toyota for more than 30 years, so being able to add vehicle sales and create a full Toyota store here is a significant step for us. 

“It gives customers another place to buy and service their Toyota, while also creating more capacity across our wider Christchurch operation.”

Miles Toyota Airport’s Orchard Road workshop opened in 1995 and service manager Bill Potter has been with the operation since those first days and continues to play an important role in the team.

“We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have such a loyal group of customers who continue to trust us with their vehicles,” adds Potter. 

“Their support has been a huge part of our growth, and it’s fantastic to be able to invest back into the area and create an even better experience for them.”

The expansion is also expected to create new roles across sales, service, parts, customer care and support, with recruitment to take place in coming months.
