Quirky car aims low

A team of Italian YouTubers has created what they are calling the world’s lowest car by slicing a Fiat Panda in half and putting it on miniature wheels.

Car modifier group Carmagheddon cut the vehicle just beneath its windows and swapped its original frame for a go-kart-sized one.

Power comes from a lawnmower engine and the bonnet sits on a pair of supermarket trolley wheels while the rest of the vehicle rides on three larger wheels, two in the back and one in the front.

The driver’s only way in is through the rear hatch and they have to lay on a narrow plank, either on their back or sideways, to operate the car.

The quirky car – which functions, steers, rides and drifts like an ordinary, street-legal vehicle – appears to float as it makes its way along the streets.

Check out the video below for a quick glimpse of the vehicle in action, or to watch the full story on how it was created, click here.

Autofile will be bringing you a Friday Funny online every week and we would love to see any entertaining videos, pictures or stories related to all things automotive that you know of or want to share. Email them to editor@autofile.co.nz.
