Pajero Sport gets new look

Mitsubishi is predicting its new Pajero Sport VRX will be a hit when it arrives in New Zealand in January.

The large SUV boasts a package of advanced safety features, enhanced luxury and aggressive styling. Key safety upgrades include the addition of lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert, while a new eight-inch colour LCD meter comes with changeable display types.

“We’re hugely excited to welcome the new Pajero Sport to New Zealand,” says Reece Congdon, head of marketing and corporate affairs at Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand.

“The bold new look that has been so well-received on the immensely popular Triton has now been adopted on this stunning VRX model – and we’re sure it will be another big hit.”

The vehicle’s high, flat bonnet creates a deeper, square-jawed front face and two-tone 18-inch alloys complement the robust design, while the rear of the vehicle features a new bumper and LED tail lamp design with spoiler as standard. Inside the cabin, sport leather has been added to all seats and there is dual-zone air conditioning.

A new hands-free power tailgate allows users to open and close the tailgate with a smartphone through the MITSUBISHI Remote Control system, which will also send a notification to drivers to lock the doors should they leave them unlocked.

The 2.4L MIVEC turbo diesel and an eight-speed automatic transmission promises smooth performance and the Pajero Sport retains the Super-Select 4WD-II system. Two new colours, white diamond and graphite grey, are also on offer for the model.

Pricing for the Pajero Sport starts at $58,990.
