Range gets the Vibe

MG Motor says it’s raising the bar for affordable compact SUVs with the introduction of the ZS Vibe Turbo.

The variant has a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine for 54 per cent more power than the ZS Excite. Mated with a continuously variable transmission, it’s priced from $27,990 plus on-roads.

Capable of producing a maximum of 125kW of power and 275Nm of torque, the powertrain offers “best in class dollar-per-kilowatt for this price range”.

Dean Sheed, MG Motor’s New Zealand country business manager, adds: “Our philosophy with the ZS Vibe Turbo variant was simple – end the compromise.

“It raises the bar in terms of bang for your buck and fun factor in the compact SUV segment. It gives the best power and performance for the price.”

The exterior of the vehicle features halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Highlights inside include a 3.5-inch instrument cluster screen complemented with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, push-button start, reverse camera, Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Driver-assistance aids include autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert.
