Lexus wins luxury battle

Lexus topped April’s ladder for luxury passenger vehicles in New Zealand with 104 registrations.

Vice-president Andrew Davis says the marque’s expanding range of premium electrified cars and SUVs is appealing to a range of new and existing customers.

“From the LBX through to the large LX, Lexus now has a wide range incorporating multiple powertrains from full electric to plug-in hybrid, hybrid and petrol or diesel-only,” he adds.

New-vehicle registrations last month took Lexus to number two overall in the luxury segment for the first four months of 2024 on 463 units.

Davis says the strong sales performance is particularly pleasing given the country’s current economic conditions.

He adds: “We and our dealership partners are focused on growing market share for Lexus in New Zealand, which is a testament to our loyal customers who contributed to our record sales year in 2023 and now April’s result.”
