ITM backing double header

Supercars and ITM have announced an expansion of their long-standing partnership, with the latter confirmed as the naming rights sponsor for the inaugural Supercars event in Christchurch in April 2026.

This means ITM will hold such rights for the Christchurch and Taupo events, making it the exclusive naming rights partner of the first New Zealand double header for the Supercars championship.

The back-to-back action will kick off in Taupo over the weekend of April 10-12 before the series heads to Christchurch from April 17-19.

Teams will race at Christchurch’s Ruapuna Raceway from 2026 to 2028, marking the competition’s debut on New Zealand’s South Island.

It has also been confirmed that drivers will be competing for the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy using combined points from the Taupo and Christchurch events.

In 2025, the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy was won by New Zealand’s Matt Payne.

Building supplier ITM has been a backer of Supercars in New Zealand since 2010, supporting events in Hamilton, Pukekohe and now Taupo.
