Celebration of heritage
Mercedes-Benz Auckland has welcomed enthusiasts, collectors and families to its showroom in Newmarket for its annual classics and collectables open day,
The facility was transformed into a showcase of craftsmanship, engineering milestones and iconic design, and the result was a vibrant celebration of automotive heritage, performance and community.
This year’s event brought together an exceptional mix of more than 50 vintage classics and high-performance favourites, providing visitors with an exceptional opportunity to experience vehicles from Mercedes-Benz history.
The display featured returning icons such as a 2014 AMG SLS Black Series, 1960 190 SL Cabriolet, 2022 AMG GT Black Series 4.0PT and 2011 AMG SLS Gullwing alongside a wide range of new additions.
These included the high-octane 2012 C 63 Black Series, CLK Black Series, 2004 SL 55 F1 Edition, which were presented alongside beautifully preserved heritage models such as the 1966 280 SE Cabriolet, 1962 220 S Sedan, 1971 280 SE 3.5 Coupé and a rare 2001 G 500 Cabriolet.
Together, they offered a unique glimpse into the evolution of Mercedes-Benz design and engineering.
Dealer principal Michael Collins says the event continues to grow in significance for the business and wider community.

Beyond the vehicles, the event on March 21 offered a lively, family-friendly atmosphere with activities for children, entertainment throughout the showroom and opportunities for guests to connect with fellow enthusiasts. The racing simulator challenge once again proved a favourite, giving visitors a taste of AMG performance.
