Interim chief at MTA

Ian Pike has been appointed as the interim chief executive officer of the Motor Trade Association (MTA) following the departure of Craig Pomare.

Pike, pictured, is moving to the MTA from Wellington City Council where he was manager of Build Wellington for seven years.

Bob Boniface, president of the association, describes Pike as “the steady hand on the wheel” the board was seeking. He adds the board wants to ensure things run smoothly, and assures members support and services will carry on without interruption.

Pike says: “I’m looking forward to working with the MTA’s executive. I will have a particular focus on completing projects currently under way so that benefits to members will carry on without interruption.”

The association will make an announcement of a permanent chief executive in due course.
