Sales of BMW Group’s vehicles achieved a new high for the month of July with 163,959 units delivered globally. That was an increase of 7.6 per cent over the same month last year when 152,351 were sold.
Worldwide year-to-date sales are also the best ever with 1,184,170 deliveries in the first seven months of the year, up by seven per cent from 1,106,852.
“Our focus is on ensuring sales remain balanced worldwide and we are confident our line-up will enable us to achieve this,” says Ian Robertson, member of BMW AG’s management board. “The success of our new vehicles, such as the BMW X4 that went on sale in July, demonstrates we’re providing our customers with what they want.
“We are confident our positive sales momentum will continue, ensuring we will sell more than two million cars this year.”
In New Zealand, BMW maintained leadership of the premium segment year to date. The recently launched all-new X5 topped the marque’s sales results chart, aided by the arrival of a new four-cylinder 25d powertrain option.
Registrations of new BMWs and MINIs are ahead seven per cent ahead compared with the same time last year.
