Geneva names new director

Geneva Finance has announced the appointment of Grant Hally to its board as an independent director.

Hally, pictured, has more than 40 years’ experience as a chartered accountant and was previously a managing partner for RSM New Zealand (Auckland), where he spent nearly 39 years of his career.

A former director and chairman of Rank Group Ltd/Whitcoulls Group Ltd, he graduated from the University of Auckland in 1976 with a bachelor of commerce degree in accounting and commercial law.

Hally is also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a fellow of Governance New Zealand.

His appointment to the Geneva Finance board was effective from February 12 and comes after former chairman David Smale announced he was resigning as an independent director last month.

In line with the NZX listing rules, Hally will retire and stand for election at the company’s next annual general meeting.
