A Christchurch dealership has announced it is the official vehicle partner of the Crusaders and will supply the rugby outfit with a range of Kia SUV models under the deal.

Miles Kia says some of the vehicles that will be provided to the current Super Rugby Pacific champions include the marque’s Sorento, Sportage and Stonic.

Jodie Tait, general manager of Miles Kia, adds: “Our Kia brand has always been innovative and continued to look at ways to improve, succeed, and excel. This commitment aligns with the Crusaders, making us fully supportive of their direction and appetite of winning their next Super Rugby title.

“The Miles Group have always been active in supporting the growth of rugby in Canterbury. With Miles Kia coming into the fold and partnering with the Crusaders, it’s another way we can assist with the game’s succession.”

The February 19 announcement comes soon after the dealership changed its name from Cockram Kia to Miles Kia, to better align it with the Miles Group of brands.

Colin Mansbridge, Crusaders chief executive officer, says he is excited to have Miles Kia on board with both entities driven by the “pursuit of teamwork, success, innovation, and a desire to be leaders in their respective fields”.

“They’ve long played an important role in our community, and we see so many similarities between our two organisations,” he explains. “This alignment of values lays the foundation for a powerful and harmonious partnership.”
