Curling with cars

Any competitive sport featuring cars will normally involve the roar of engines, but not organised car curling.
A group of Russians held the sport’s maiden tournament on a full-size outdoor skating rink in Yekaterinburg in 2017.
Four teams of 10 battled it out for honours by pushing stripped out, engine-less Okas toward a target painted on an ice rink. The blue and red vehicles were steered by a driver in an attempt to either hit the target or bump rival cars out of the way.
Galina Kirkach, a car insurance agent, said his inspiration for organising the event was the large number of accidents caused by black ice in Russia.
