Championship ready to hit track

The race calendar for the 2023-2024 Toyota 86 Championship has been confirmed by Toyota Gazoo Racing New Zealand (TGRNZ).

The 11th season of the competition begins at the Taupo International Motorsport Park over the weekend of November 17-19 when New Zealand’s SuperSprint Championship season also gets under way.

Teams and drivers then have a lengthy break before racing resumes with three rounds supporting the 2024 Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship.

First up over the weekend of January 26-28 is the seasonal visit to Manfeild – Circuit Chris Amon.

The field then heads to the South Island on February 9-11 for round three at the newly renamed Euromarque Motorsport Park in Christchurch (formerly Ruapuna).

The following weekend the action will feature as part of the first New Zealand Grand Prix to be held at Highlands Motorsport Park.

Round five will be fought out at TGRNZ’s home circuit, Hampton Downs, on March 15-17, while the venue for the sixth and final round of the 2024 championship is still to be confirmed.
