A man showing off some dance moves on a pedestrian crossing in New York may have been the reason why two vehicles crashed into each other.

The unidentified dancer, who is dressed like one of the US city’s crossing guards, was caught on camera getting into the groove on Avenue U and East 55th Street in Brooklyn, reports the Daily Mail.

But the clip, which was posted by sbfresh_official on TikTok, takes an unexpected turn when two vehicles travelling in different directions are seen colliding in the background.

The man stops dancing immediately and gestures in a way that suggests he is annoyed at the drivers, who both manage to get out of their cars safely.

The footage has attracted plenty of comments online, with one person suggesting the motorists involved in the smash probably thought the man was “directing traffic” and that both vehicles had a green light.
