Cadillac opens ‘luxury’ showroom

The Cadillac Auckland Experience Centre has opened to the public and the marque says it offers a “fresh and luxurious take on the showroom experience”.

Situated on Karangahape Road, Auckland, it marks the brand’s arrival in New Zealand and combines a specialised vehicle-delivery area with a guest lounge, a feature-vehicle “runway”, a design and personalisation centre, and an on-site service centre.

Cadillac has rejuvenated a two-storey, colonial-style building in a part of the city better known for boutiques, bars and dining as it wants to avoid being located on a vast outer-urban site or in a traditional “auto alley”.

Jess Bala, managing director of General Motors Australia and New Zealand, says: “Cadillac is a brand that prides itself on constantly reimagining the idea of modern luxury, and that ethos doesn’t start and finish with our vehicles.

“It’s why the Cadillac Auckland Experience Centre is unlike any showroom our customers have ever experienced before.

“It’s a place to experience all that Cadillac offers, and a place designed to engage with Cadillac customers throughout their entire ownership journey.”

The new Lyriq, which is being offered in two grades, Luxury and Sport, is the first model on sale at the centre.

However, it will soon be joined by the performance-focused Lyriq-V, the Optiq and Vistiq – all produced in factory right-hand drive for the New Zealand market.

The Vistiq is a three-row SUV providing electric motoring for larger families, while the Optiq is pitched as a new entry point to the Cadillac range and sits beneath the Lyriq in terms of size.
