BMW reveals pricing for new X7

BMW New Zealand has announced the pricing for the new BMW X7 ahead of its launch here in the fourth quarter of this year.
The updated model, which was unveiled in April, features a range of styling, technology and powertrain developments.
The X7 xDrive40d, which replaces the xDrive30d, boasts power and torque increases as well as an expanded specification offering. It will be available in M Sport and Design Pure Excellence levels, with both versions carrying a price tag of $177,700 excluding on-road costs.
Meanwhile the X7 M60i xDrive, featuring a 4.4-litre petrol V8 with M TwinPower Turbo technology has a recommended retail price before on-road costs of $224,900.
Highlights for the sports activity vehicles include revamped headlight and rear-light designs, the availability of 23-inch light-alloy wheels for the first time, and the latest generation BMW iDrive control and operation system.
There are also additional driver assistance features and powertrains include 48-volt mild hybrid technology and a crankshaft-mounted starter generator, which will be a first for BMW customers in New Zealand.
The engine options are headed by a new 4.4-litre petrol V8 for the range-topping BMW X7 M60i xDrive. M TwinPower Turbo technology and a cross-bank exhaust manifold help the car deliver output and torque figures of 390kW and 750Nm.
Detailed upgrades to the six-cylinder in-line diesel engine in the new BMW X7 xDrive40d have also improved its fuel economy and emissions.
The maximum output of its overall drive system is 259kW, while nominal torque of the diesel engine is 700Nm. This can be increased to 720Nm with input of the mild hybrid system.
These figures mark increases of 64kW and 100Nm on those of the engine powering the X7 xDrive30d.
All engines partner with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission including shift paddles on the steering wheel.
