Audi celebrates new arrivals
Audi New Zealand is heralding the arrival of two new vehicles that deliver two very different types of driving experiences.
The compact Audi A1 citycarver, pictured above, arrived in showrooms this month and targets urban driving, while the fourth generation Audi A6 allroad quattro aims to be comfortable whether on or off-road.
Dean Sheed, general manager of Audi New Zealand, says the fourth variant A1 is a great addition to the premium compact category. “The Audi A1 citycarver combines the best of Audi technology and design to deliver a superior modern vehicle that is fit for today’s urban driver,” he says.
The new model draws inspiration from the Audi A1 Sportback and is powered by a three-cylinder 1.0 TFSI engine, outputting 85kW and 200Nm torque, transferring power via a seven-speed S Tronic transmission. It comes with 17-inch cast alloy wheels as standard.
Eight exterior colours are available, and drivers can customise their vehicle with the choice of two different contrasting roof and mirror housing colours – Mythos black or Manhattan grey.
‘Perfect all-rounder’
Sheed says the fourth generation Audi A6 allroad quattro boasts standard all-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension and increased ground clearance.
“It is the perfect all-rounder with striking exterior elements which reinforce its off-road character, the latest in Audi quattro technology ensures improved traction, a high level of safety and agile handling, and digital displays allow you to personalise your driving experience,” he explains.
Audi NZ is offering the top-of-the-line V6 engine in the new A6, pictured, and for the first time, combined an electric powered compressor (EPC) with a 48-volt primary electrical system. The 3.0 V6 TDI with 257kW of power and 700Nm accelerates the A6 allroad quattro 55 TDI from 0 to 100kph in 5.2 seconds.
The A6 allroad quattro’s ground clearance at standard ride height is 139 mm, underscoring its off-road qualities, and it can tow up to 2.5 tons. It also offers a luggage capacity of between 565 litres and 1,680 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Inside, the model features an all-digital operating system with a 10.1-inch screen used to control infotainment and an 8.6-inch display to operate climate control, comfort functions and text input.
The Audi A1 citycarver starts from $45,900, while pricing for the A6 allroad quattro starts from $134,900.
