2 Cheap Cars launches Best Auto Buy

2 Cheap Cars have launched three new dealerships around New Zealand under the name, Best Auto Buy. The new dealerships are located in Wellington and Christchurch, with one in the pipeline for Auckland. The grand opening of the Wellington and Christchurch dealerships being this weekend.   CEO Eugene Williams encourages the further expansion and growth of the 2 Cheap Cars business stating that there is still room for dealerships like Best Auto Buy.  “We are trying to meet market demand as we feel the market still has room for another major brand,” says Williams. “2 Cheap Cars will be stocking [vehicles with] a slightly higher price point (e.g. Utes, SUVs and non-Japanese marques),” explains Williams. Hinting that 2 Cheap Cars will move away from importing vehicles in the lower price bracket, which Best Auto Buy will most likely take-over, and move into importing higher priced vehicles. He has set high goals for the new venture stating that he’s aiming for “nationwide 15-20 branches within two years.” Despite the wave of electric vehicles hitting the market and a shift towards cars with lower fuel emissions, Williams disagrees that having dealerships specialising in EVs are the way forward. “We believe that 5-10-year-old EVs with 50,000+ km’s are going to be an issue with batteries and battery disposal when the vehicle needs to be scrapped. Japan has many hybrids and we believe this to be the short to medium term solution considering infrastructure in New Zealand.”
