VW names new general manager

Chanelle McDonald has been appointed general manager of Volkswagen New Zealand for passenger cars and will take up the role from the start of August.

Her new post within European Motor Distributors (EMD), part of the Giltrap Group, comes after being national sales and corporate manager for Skoda New Zealand since November 2020, reports NZ Autocar. 

Prior to that, she was head of marketing at Audi New Zealand from July 2018 after joining EMD from FCB New Zealand, an advertising, marketing and communications agency.

McDonald, pictured, replaces Greg Leet at Volkswagen NZ after it was announced he will become general manager at Audi NZ following Dean Sheed’s decision to take on a new role at EMD.
