Renowned designer Jozef Kaban has joined MG as vice-president of its global design centre as the marque celebrates its centenary this year.

With a rich background in automotive design, he has a wealth of experience from his time with European brands. His portfolio includes designing the iconic Bugatti Veyron supercar.

“I have followed Jozef Kaban closely in the industry,” says Peter Ciao, MG Motor Australia’s chief executive officer. “We’re very happy to have him join MG as we get ready for the launch of the Cyberster EV roadster later this year.”

Kaban, pictured, is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Art in London. His expertise and vision have been instrumental in creating some memorable designs in the automotive world.

He started his career as a designer at Volkswagen. In 2003, he moved to Audi as an exterior design assistant before being promoted to chief of exterior design four years later.

Kaban was exterior designer of VW’s Lupo, Seat’s Arosa and the Skoda Octavia. He held the same position at Skoda before joining BMW and then leading design at its subsidiary, Rolls-Royce. He returned to VW in 2020.
