Ute brings out tough side

A cheeky television commercial revved up the humour when it delivered a fresh take on a previous advert ahead of the world-famous Dakar Rally.
Toyota’s campaign in South Africa for the Hilux had already introduced consumers to a suburban woman who takes on a tougher personality when she uses her husband’s ute to go shopping.
The marque revisited the idea that “toughness rubs off” ahead of the 2013 rally, with the heroine this time bumping into rally driver Giniel De Villiers as she emerges from a shopping centre.
After picking up his car keys by mistake, she decides to drive his even more rugged Hilux motorsport instead.
Once home – as she did in the original advert – she again dispatches her bewildered-looking husband to the kitchen to make her a sandwich.
