Finest Mustang upgrades set

The team behind Ford’s Bathurst-winning V8 Supercars is adding final touches for its ultimate Ford Mustang.  Tickford showed off its new Ford Ranger ute accessories at the Bathurst 1000, alongside a prototype for its upcoming range of Mustang upgrades, reports drive.com.au. Tickford is a tuning arm or vehicle engineering venture run by Prodrive Racing Australia. The Mustang show car features carbon fibre additions to its bumpers and side skirts, as well as a carbon fibre spoiler and matte black racing stripes. The prototype also has staggered wheels, lowered suspension and a revised exhaust system. Tickford spokesman Ashley Miniken says a showroom-ready version of the model will reach production soon, featuring a range of cosmetic and performance upgrades similar to what the brand offers for the Ranger ute. Tickford offers a 20 per cent increase in power and 15 per cent more torque for the Ranger through a retuned computer map, dual side-exit exhaust and new air filter. The brand also sells suede steering wheels, re-trimmed leather seats, customised side skirts and a Tickford-branded grille for the popular ute. Ford’s Mustang has become the focus of many aftermarket tuners looking to build on the performance offered by the marque’s latest coupe.
