Tyre sales to boost charity

Bridgestone is helping boost the coffers of Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC) this month with its “Drive for a Cure” promotion.

The company will donate $3 to the charity for every Bridgestone-branded car, 4x4, SUV and van tyre sold through its network of Bridgestone Select and Bridgestone Tyre Centre stores around the country throughout February.

Funds raised from the scheme will directly support people and families living with leukaemia and blood cancers.

John Staples, Bridgestone’s director of New Zealand business, says: “We’re proud to support blood cancer patients and their families … and through our Drive for a Cure promotion, our customers can show their support for the vital work of LBC simply by purchasing tyres.

“Giving back to the community is part of Bridgestone’s DNA through our global corporate social responsibility commitment known as ‘Our Way to Serve’, and our partnership with the LBC is a key element how we bring this global initiative to life in New Zealand.”

Each day, eight Kiwis are diagnosed with blood cancer, with an estimated 21,000 people living with blood cancer in New Zealand, making it the fifth most common form of cancer in the country.

LBC helps patients and families with personalised support, information and education, funding research, raising awareness and advocacy.

Bridgestone New Zealand has been a major partner of LBC since 2017, raising more than $100,000 through a number of fundraising initiatives.
