Turners rationalises operations

Turners’ automotive retail division has exited its well-known site in Morrin Road, Auckland.

The branch in Panmure had its last day of operation on November 30. One of the reasons for this is the lease for the location has expired.

In addition, the company says recent operational performance improvements achieved in Auckland means it has transferred all remaining vehicles from there to its six other branches in the region.

“We’re always looking at how we can better optimise our footprint and have taken the opportunity of an expiring lease to capitalise on this,” says Greg Hedgepeth, pictured, chief executive officer of Turners Auto Retail.

“We have done a similar exercise in the past and we’ve proven that it can improve our overall performance.

“Additionally, due to growth, we have some open roles in our Auckland branch network, so we will redistribute all our staff from Panmure to our other six branches.

“This is a positive outcome for those team members and we’re confident we’ll be able to better meet our customers’ needs with all our Auckland branches at full capacity.”

The company’s other Auckland branches include Botany, Manukau, Otahuhu, Penrose, North Shore and Westgate.
