Toyota NZ appoints CEO
Toyota New Zealand has announced a number of key leadership changes, including the permanent appointment of Tatsuya Ishikawa as chief executive officer.
Ishikawa stepped into the role on an acting basis in June 2024 after his predecessor, Neeraj Lala, took a personal leave of absence before resigning the following month.
Akitoshi Takemura, board chairman, says: “Given how well Ishikawa has performed in the acting role, along with his connections to Toyota Motor Corporation and the global Toyota family, this was a natural appointment.”
In other moves, Mark Young and Andrew Davis have been appointed to the Toyota NZ board as directors, with both bringing extensive experience and industry knowledge to their new governance roles.
All three positions were made effective as of the company’s latest board meeting on March 26.
Young has also been named chief risk and value chain officer, responsible for overseeing risk management and optimising Toyota’s value chain operations, while Davis becomes chief strategic officer, shaping the company’s long-term strategic direction.
Toyota NZ says the appointments reflect its dedication to strong leadership, innovation and delivering value to its customers and stakeholders.
“Ishikawa will focus on bringing the global perspective Toyota Motor Corporation needs to TNZ, with Mark and Andrew driving strategies into the business and network locally,” it adds.
The trio will be supported by the rest of TNZ’s executive leadership team, who are Susanne Hardy, assistant vice-president – marketing, sustainability and technology, Michelle Povey, assistant vice-president – after-sales operations, and Albertus Mulder, assistant vice-president – corporate and product planning.
