Towies target of turd crank call
An initially baffled towing company worker was left laughing after being the subject of a crank call from an American comedian complaining about a “turd in the car”.
The classic skit from Crank Yankers, an adult-orientated US television show, features Wanda Sykes as her recurring character, Gladys Murphy.
Gladys calls SST Towing to report she just picked up her 1992 Honda Accord and found a “huge turd in the back seat”.
She is demanding someone come and remove it, while the bewildered employee on the other end of the phone insists she bring the car back to its yard so staff can inspect the problem.
As the hilarious sketch unfolds, Gladys refuses to drive it back and threatens to retaliate by defecating and urinating over the towing company’s office and remaining cars.
In the end, with SST Towing staff chuckling away at the ridiculous nature of the woman’s rant, she decides to keep the turd as it might be a “conversation piece”.
Crank Yankers, screened on Comedy Central, features crank calls made by comedians and celebrity guests, with on-screen re-enactments by puppets.
