Tight squeeze sets record

Two cheerleading teams showed they had the flexibility to secure an unusual Guinness World Record by piling into a tiny car.

The record for most people crammed in a Smart car is 20 and was first set by the Glendale Cheerleading Team in Los Angeles in 2011.

The Comets Cheerleaders, pictured above and shown in the video below, matched that number on an Italian TV show three years later.

Their achievements are certainly not for anyone claustrophobic as the Smart car used measures about 2.5 metres long and 1.5m high.

Before the efforts of those two teams, the previous record was 18 people and was set by an Australian Climb Fit Team in 2010.
