Technical expert joins GWM

A prominent ride and handling expert is joining GWM to run its local tuning and engineering programme.

Rob Trubiani, pictured, has been announced by the company as its product engineering manager for Australia and New Zealand.

He has gained nearly 25 years of automotive experience across the ditch, and for many of those was a lead development engineer specialising in areas including brake, chassis, vehicle dynamics and technical integration.

As Holden’s lead engineer for vehicle dynamics for nearly 15 years, Trubiani, who starts his new job in early April, understands road conditions across Australasia and vehicle characteristics preferred by customers across the region.

More recently, he was senior mechanical engineer at global automotive engineering consultancy Segula Technologies.

GWM says it has been listening to local customer feedback for several years with much of this already making its way into the fine-tuning of new models for the Kiwi and Australian markets.

Its aim in hiring Trubiani is to strengthen local engineering efforts to further improve dynamics.

“With a wealth of local ride and handling experience, we’re confident Rob can help deliver an even better in-vehicle experience,” says Steve Maciver, GWM’s head of marketing and communications.
