Subaru has long aimed to collar dog fans in the United States to buy their vehicles with a series of fun commercials featuring a family of canines known as the Barkleys. 

A number of light-hearted adverts over the years have shown the retrievers on various outings while behind the wheel of some of the marque’s models and always end with the tagline: “Dog tested. Dog approved”.

In “Fork in the Trail”, released this year, two dogs are seen enjoying a romantic drive in an Outback Wilderness. 

While the driver is feeling amorous and wants to head to Lovers Lane, its partner’s abrupt bark in response leaves the driver in no doubt their outing is only going to be a scenic one.
