Police supercar arresting sight
Dubai Police has added the Lamborghini Temerario, a hybrid supercar capable of accelerating from 0-100kph in 2.7 seconds, to its luxury patrol fleet.
Introduced in partnership with Lamborghini Abu Dhabi and Dubai, it combines automotive technology with the force’s, one could say, distinctive approach to tourist policing. It’s bound to strengthen police visibility, and engagement with residents and visitors, which is never a bad thing.
Brigadier Saeed Al Hajri, director of the general department of criminal investigation, says the Temerario reflects the force’s commitment to strengthening its security presence while building closer relationships with the public.
He explains: “Our luxury patrol fleet represents an innovative approach to policing, combining an effective security presence with community and tourist engagement.
“These vehicles help people feel safe, showcase Dubai’s positive image to visitors, and raise awareness of police services and public safety. Above all, they reinforce our commitment to being a force that’s close to the community.”
Colonel Mohammad Abdulrahman Abdulwahid, director of the tourist police department at Dubai Police, adds: “The addition of the Lamborghini demonstrates our efforts to develop our luxury fleet and strengthen strategic partnerships with the private sector, contributing to a better quality of life, community happiness and an exceptional experience for Dubai’s visitors.”
Luxury-car patrols operate in popular tourist destinations and busy areas, offering residents and visitors opportunities to interact with police officers.
