Replica helmet under hammer
Turners is auctioning a signed miniature replica of Liam Lawson’s racing helmet from last year with all proceeds being donated to the Gut Cancer Foundation.
The company has been supporting Lawson since he was 16 when he dreamed of becoming an F1 driver and continues to do so now.
Turners has also had a long association with the Gut Cancer Foundation NZ, fundraising on its behalf since 2018. Some 17 Kiwis a day are diagnosed with cancer of the digestive system. The foundation funds research into the prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatments. It also raises awareness and provides education around signs and symptoms.
The winning bid will directly support this work and help improve outcomes through earlier detection and better awareness.
Lawson’s 2025 mini helmet is a one-to-two scale replica of the Bell HP77 featuring his Visa Cash App RB F1 Team design. It was made in the same factory by the same craftsmen as Bell Racing helmets.
With one of the most distinctive designs on 2025’s F1 grid, it makes a statement with its vibrant pink and white livery – a modern tribute to his New Zealand roots. From Maori-inspired motifs to the iconic silver fern and Southern Cross stars of the national flag, every element reflects a bond with his homeland.
It’s made with materials similar to real racing helmets – 77 per cent fibre-reinforced recyclable plastic, 15 per cent cotton fabric and foam, and eight per cent hardware.
Bids can be made on Turners’ website or Trade Me. The auction runs until 7pm on March 22. All details are here: https://www.turners.co.nz/signed-liam-lawson-mini-f1-helmet
